Like true fate, most romantic stories start online and blossom in the real world. For Laura and Evan, they knew they had something special after date number 1. On their first date, Evan asked Laura to look for the “classically handsome man” standing by the clock in Grand Central Station. That night they had a drink at The Campbell Apartments, walked to Times Square for a few rounds of bowling and then took the subway downtown for an Italian dinner.
Over the past three and a half years, Laura and Evan have peddled through Nashville, Austin and Copenhagen, skied the mountains of Colorado, Canada and Vermont, and swam the clear blue waters of St. Lucia, Playa Del Carmen, and the Jersey Shore. They also adopted their four legged baby Milo from Texas!
Evan and Laura have been waiting for this special wedding day their entire lives. And we were too! When they contacted Around Town Entertainment to perform in front of all their family and friends, we were truly honored!
Laura and Evan looked good on their big day on July 19, 2020. The sun was shining throughout! One of the nicest days at The Crossed Key Estates in New Jersey! Under a perfect breeze, the day began with a touching ceremony in the stunning open garden and courtyard overlooking the countryside. The setting could not have been more perfect! The pianist from Around Town Entertainment played classic wedding ceremony music. The bride walked down the isle to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. “Everything” by Michael Buble was played once the couple was announced as husband and wife.
The guests moved into The Tent for their cocktail hour, where they enjoyed the jazz trio from Around Town Entertainment. There were plenty of space to dance and the energy was very lively! For the reception, the guests enjoyed a wide variety of favorites chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Kleppe played by Around Town Entertainment’s Around Town Band. The bride and groom chose Brett Eldridge’s “Mean to Me” as their first dance wedding song. The band made sure to play special requested songs including “The Man Who Loves You Most” Zach Brown Band, “How Sweet It Is” James Taylor, “Higher Love” Whitney Houston, and “Wanna Be” by Spice Girl . The reception was where the party really came to life as they crowd danced all night!
With everything going on the world, it’s no secret that many of our bands have had to adapt or pivot. We’re fortunate to still be playing live shows and very excited for the upcoming events that follow!
