August 10, 2019 at in beautiful Rye, New York was definitely one for the books! Andrea and Brian were a beautiful couple and Around Town Entertainment was very fortunate to be able to play in front of their hometown and family! This wedding was proof that when you have the right band, an excited crowd and a great celebration, amazing things happen!
Andea and Brian met their freshman year at New York University through mutual friends, but didn’t start dating until their senior year! For the surprise proposal, Brian woke her up at 4:15am, with a bouquet of flowers and a card. The card directed her to pack a bag for a weekend at the beach and not to ask any questions “because everything was taken care of,” and off they went to Florida. That night, they went to the beach where Brian proposed and when Andrea turned around their parents were running down the beach! What a story book ending!
We absolutely loved working with Andrea and Brian! The Around Town Band made sure they got every detail planned together and we prepared all of their favorite song requests. Her natural style carried over into her wedding playlist displaying that same class and elegance.
Few wedding venues in all of Westchester County can boast the stunning beauty of the New York country setting. From impeccably crafted ballrooms to floral filled grounds and magnificent expansive views, the Westchester Country Club is a very special and high end venue to perform in and to host such a lovely event.
With so many out of town guests, the couple chose Westchester Country Club for its proximity to their childhood home. The vision for their wedding was neutral and simple elegance with whites and greens, with slight touches of blues and lavenders. The custom grey wood floor, clear top tent and carefully selected linens and papers worked beautifully into that vision. Their escort card board stood with a frame of flowers and a special surprise for the bride and groom, underneath the escort cards, was a surprise painting of their dog, Lany, for them to take home. Lany also made an appearance at the wedding, to the delight of all.
The bride looked beautiful as she walked down the aisle in her stunning dress on the wedding day. Surrounded by antique silver candelabras, lush white florals, gorgeous table garlands, the pianist from Around Town Entertainment provided the live music as Andrea and Brian made their first kiss as husband and wife to “Happy” by Pharrell!
Following the ceremony, the party moved to the Westchester room for cocktails and dancing. The wedding band created an environment where the guests would enjoy their drinks in a very formal setting while classic hits were played on the outside deck by The Around Town Band. Guests didn’t stop dancing and we can’t blame them!
After cocktails, the bridal party entered to the song “All of Me,” by John Legend. Then, bride and groom made a grand appearance as the wedding band played Rihanna’s “We Found Love.” The couple’s first dance was to “Rockstar” by Da Baby, with the father and daughter dancing to “Lose Control” by Meduza. This was one of the cutest moments we have witnessed! They even matched each other from head to toe and both were really amazing singers!
Other songs played later in the evening were tunes like “Something Just Like This” by The Chainsmokers, “I Like Me Better,” by Lauv, “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” by Backstreet Boys.” Everyone had a great time dancing the night away to all the hits!
The Winchester Room was the perfect place to play for all 300 on this evening. The Around Town Band did not disappoint, and the dance floor was packed the whole night. Actually, I think the only time we were sad the whole day is when they played their last song!
This crowd was a super passionate, loving and a happy crowd, and clearly knew how to bust a move on the dance flower with fabulous tunes and endless amounts of time on preparation by Around Town Entertainment.
