Cake and Throwbacks

The Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut is one of East Coast’s little secrets. It’s a hidden treasure that just so happens to make the perfect wedding backdrop.

Francesco and Andrea both fell in love in New York. It was a romantic story coming straight from the pages of a classic romance from the 80s.  It went something like this- they become friends and eventually, she gets impatient and makes a move. He just can’t say no, and they fall in love!

They soon traveled the world together. Then, they make the big move to San Francisco and learn to live together in a 330sqft studio, but eventually make the rest of the West Coast their backyard.

When he finally proposed, she quickly uttered the words “Please don’t drop that!” They got married on September 29, 2019. They immediately reached out to Around Town Entertainment to perform for their very special day and we were very happy to say “I Do.”

The setting on this day took place at a historic mansion wedding venue. The inspiration for Francesco and Andrea’s wedding came from the pages of Vanity Fair or a Ralph Lauren ad. The venue matched the classic and elegant style that the bride and groom wanted to deliver to their very important guests. They even kept the color scheme simple based on the unique room color of the ballroom, which was turquoise, by using a simple color pallet of navy and silver accents with all whitefloral arrangements to pay homage to being by the ocean!

The wedding band was excited to play in this stunning location. The scenery was beautiful! We start in the Walled Garden, where Around Town Entertainement’s pianist performed a trio of classic throwbacks from The Beatles and Patrick Doyle as the wind breezed through the open fields and lush gardens. The interior of the mansion matched the wedding song playlist perfectly. It was very vintage-inspired, with seemingly endless picturesque areas for the guests to capture  in their memories forever.

The reception was inside and we loved how nice it looked! Very old but fit the perfect frame as a jazz trio from Around Town Entertainment played acoustic tunes from Queen and Redbone to start the party! A ton of the guests were already packing the dancefloor and we are so happy they all came out early to see the show!

The wedding band kept the dancing going inside all night long, the bar was almost running out of drinks and people needed air outside so they could breath! Wow so fun and epic! We set us some extra speakers outside so people could hear the music and get access to their next drink! Our favorite part of the evening was the celebratory cake cutting. They chose the son ”The Distance” by Cake. Very appropriate, and so fun! We can’t wait to return here for years to come!

The end of the night could not have been more beautiful. The energy of the wedding brought us love and joy! We couldn’t have asked for a better day filled with love, happiness and joy as we celebrated the union together for Francesco and Andrea as officially husband and wife.

A Trip to The Brooklake Country Club

October 21, 2018 was another wedding we did not forget! We can’t help but reminisce about the entire wedding, including a beautiful beaming bride who completely stole the show. Adrianna and Geoff were the lucky couple on this beautiful evening! And Around Town Entertainment was honored to be invited to play on their special day!

Adrianna and Geoff both went to the University of Maine so the room was packed with mutual friends. The first 3 years of their relationship were long-distance, trading weekends up and down the coast between NY and Maine, before ending up in New York City. As soon as they met, they knew immediately they were meant for each other.  It was important for Around Town Entertainment to create a song list that was the soundtrack to their lives and that we did!

We absolutely loved working with them both! We planned together for about 18 months so we had plenty of time to get every last detail perfectly nailed down. Her style along with our carried over into her wedding design displaying that same elegance and glamour. The vision and songs she picked were classic from Blake Shelton to Bon Jovi. We had a fun time curating the soundtrack to their wedding!

The day of the wedding was a dream. The bridesmaids wore matching pink dresses. How cute! As we followed them to the Chapel, the clouds parted and the sun started shining! Picture perfect!

Adriana’s wedding dress, a fabulous Vera Wang, completely took everyone’s breath away as she walked down the aisle at the amazing Brooklake Country Club in New Jersey. As she entered the main chapel, a pianist from Around Town Entertainment played “I Will Wait” by Mumford and Sons! We couldn’t even keep it together! Absolutely beautiful when the bride and groom locked lips to “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas.

Following the ceremony, the couple had portraits done as Around Town Band’s jazz trio provided the live music entertainment as guests poured themselves a cocktail or two. The wedding band created a very incredible experience as  guests enjoyed mingling and dancing on the pool deck by an incredible band to dance the night away, which they did!

As guests moved into the Main Ballroom for a candlelight dinner. The Around Town Band from Around Town Entertainment played dance hits from Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston to set the mood for the evening! The large floor-to-ceiling windows and the westerly panoramic view of the lake under the changing colors of the setting sun was the perfect backdrop for this moment. What a spectacular facility and gorgeous setting!

It was really important to us that see our guests feel comfortable and have fun. The Brooklake Country Club was the perfect venue to accommodate that, with its old-school East Coast charm and oceanfront setting being just the right amount of formal, without feeling stuffy. After toasts and a delicious meal, the party moved back outside under the stars. The Around Town Band did not disappoint, and the dance floor was packed the whole night! The only time we were sad the whole day was when they played their last song!

We recognize the extreme importance of creating the perfect event, so from the first introduction to the day of the event, each client is given specialized attention, which entails customizing music for each event, professional and immediate attention to detail and bringing the exact desired effect to each event!

Perfect Manhattan Wedding

We can’t help but reminisce about the absolutely spectacular wedding day on Friday, August 23, 2019. The After Party Band from Around Town Entertainment performed for over 300 people at the Tribeca Rooftop in New York City!

It was the celebration of Jenny and James’s wedding. Many in the audience were hearing the wedding band perform live for the first time and we sure didn’t disappoint!

Tribeca Rooftop is a chic industrial event venue located in the trendy downtown neighborhood of Tribeca, New York City. Located on a cobblestone street in a 1920’s printing press building, Tribeca Rooftop set the perfect atmosphere for the wedding band’s classy and refined taste. The expansive glass atrium and large windowed walls offered an iconic backdrop for the night’s music from Around Town Entertainment.

The band played classic hits that had the crowd on their feet the entire night!   It was a true New York wedding experience at the stunningly beautiful venue.

The evening began with a beautiful ceremony overlooking the One World Trade Center.  The wedding ceremony piano player from Around Town Entertainment first serenaded the guests as the anticipation of the bride’s grand entrance built.

For the processional, the bridal walked to “Sinking Deep” by Hillsongs.

The bride chose the traditional wedding song “Wedding March” the Chris Wrisner version. For the recessional, the newlywed husband and wife made their first kiss to the song “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce, and what a perfect song choice it was! It truly was a start to a beautiful and most memorable day!

The guests then enjoyed their glamorous cocktail party, as the trio from Around Town Entertainment played perfect wedding cocktail music throughout the city skyline. The guests then moved back to the ballroom which seemed to magically transform in one hour to the perfect, stunning dream wedding reception setting.

The couple’s first dance wedding song was “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5.

The bride chose “Shut Up and Dance With Me” by Walk the Moon as her father daughter wedding song.

“Make You Feel My Love” by Adele was the selected song for Mother and son wedding song.

The bride and groom also got to hear some of their favorite wedding dance songs from Lady Gage and Black Eyed Peas specially learned and prepared by Around Town Entertainment.

We had this general idea of a “Manhattan” wedding and after visiting TriBeca Rooftop it fit the bill even better than any idea we had imagined. The bride and groom  are still raving about it almost a year later!

Tribeca Rooftop was beyond anything we could have imagined as a venue. Not only is the place beautiful on its own, but the people dancing to the music was amazing. We really couldn’t have chosen a better place to play at a very special wedding.

The After Party Band from Around Town Entertainment was honored to be part of such a beautiful New York City wedding.

We look forward to our weekend of weddings to come!

Say It Isn’t So!

October 4, 2019 was the special wedding at the Saybrook Point Inn & Spa in Saybrook, Connecticut for Mimi and James! They looked lovely on their wedding day! We are so happy for the couple and their families!

Mimi and James selected the award-winning Around Town Band from Around Town Entertainment. Nestled between the Long Island Sound and Connecticut River, Saybrook Point Resort & Marina was the perfect backdrop to usher in the bride and groom’s new marriage.

With every visit to Old Saybrook, Connecticut, we encounter the friendliness of a small town, breathtaking marina vistas, and glimpses of rich history. Saybrook Point Resort & Marina has created the perfect place for Mimi and James’ beautiful day!

The evening started with a heartwarming ceremony in the Outdoor Terrace. The sounds of romantic classics from Around Town Entertainent’s pianist greeted the beautiful bride as she walked down the aisle to say “I Do” to  her husband.

The beautiful bride circled her groom before planting their first kiss while the pianist from Around Town Band played one of her favorite songs like “In My Life” by The Beatles and Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie.”

The crowd cheered as her groom broke the glass, concluding the ceremony, and the bride and groom were finally relieved to be married! They and their guests left the ceremony with the processional song by “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.

The cocktail hour was spirited with some favorite jazz swing selections as the guests prepared for a night of dancing.

Guests moved to the beautiful Lighthouse Gallery with anticipation for the evening’s main event- Around Town Band.  The Lighthouse Gallery offered the wedding band an elegant space with a warm fireplace for a beautiful fall and a gorgeous backdrop around the guests.

The bride chose “Can’t Help Falling in Love” from Elvis Presley for her bridal party entrance song and “Power Of Love” by Huey Lewis for the bride and groom entrance. They prepared a well-choreographed dance routine, as the crowd cheered the two on.

There was really good energy between the newlyweds and guests that evening. The dance floor remained filled for the rest of the evening as guests danced their heart out to classics like  “Electric Love” by Borns and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” Frankie Valli.

When choosing her Connecticut wedding band, the bride had to make sure we could play some of her favorite wedding music. Around Town Entertainment promised to learn their favorite songs, such as “In The End” by Linkin Park and “A Thing Called Love” by Above & Beyond. The groom even got up to join the band and played the guitar for his favorite song by The Killers! He was the perfect addition to our Connecticut Wedding band from Around Town Entertainment!

A Getaway to Crescent Beach Club

November 17, 2019 was the wedding of Josh and Julie. The Crescent Beach Club located in Bayville, NY  was the site of this chosen wedding. The Crescent Beach Club was the perfect choice for this day.  Upon arrival, we were greeted with our very own private beach, as the palm trees and tall beach grass sway in the gentle breeze.

The New York City wedding band, The Authority Band from Around Town Entertainment was selected as the entertainment for the night. The bride and groom had a stunning ceremony as the pianist from Around Town Entertainment played hit after hit.

For the couple’s processional they chose “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. The bride chose Calvin Harris’s “Feel So Close” as her ceremony song.

They both walked down the aisle to the song “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce.

During the ceremony each guest stood and sang the words to the song “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion to set the mood.

Then for the recessional, there were two songs, “Everything” by Michael Buble and “I Loved Her First” by Heartland as the guests moved downstairs to the cocktail hour.

The NYC wedding band played all of the couple’s favorite requested songs, including “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift, “The Candy Man” Sammy Davis Jr., and “Tie A Yellow Ribbon” by Tony Orlando.

The New York City view was stunning as the guests danced the night away!

The music itself was breathtaking- everyone who came to the wedding was floored and were telling us about how much fun they had. If I could give Crescent more than 5 stars I would!! Classic Wedding at The Crossed Key Estates

Like true fate, most romantic stories start online and blossom in the real world. For Laura and Evan, they knew they had something special after date number 1. On their first date, Evan asked Laura to look for the “classically handsome man” standing by the clock in Grand Central Station. That night they had a drink at The Campbell Apartments, walked to Times Square for a few rounds of bowling and then took the subway downtown for an Italian dinner.

Over the past three and a half years, Laura and Evan have peddled through Nashville, Austin and Copenhagen, skied the mountains of Colorado, Canada and Vermont, and swam the clear blue waters of St. Lucia, Playa Del Carmen, and the Jersey Shore. They also adopted their four legged baby Milo from Texas!

Evan and Laura have been waiting for this special wedding day their entire lives. And we were too! When they contacted Around Town Entertainment to perform in front of all their family and friends, we were truly honored!

Laura  and Evan looked good on their big day on July 19, 2020. The sun was shining throughout!  One of the nicest days at The Crossed Key Estates in New Jersey! Under a perfect breeze, the day began with a touching ceremony in the stunning open garden and courtyard overlooking the countryside. The setting could not have been more perfect! The pianist from Around Town Entertainment played classic wedding ceremony music. The bride walked down the isle to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. “Everything” by Michael Buble was played once the couple was announced as husband and wife.

The guests moved into The Tent for their cocktail hour, where they enjoyed the jazz trio from Around Town Entertainment. There were plenty of space to dance and the energy was very lively! For the reception, the guests enjoyed a wide variety of favorites chosen by Mr. and Mrs. Kleppe played by Around Town Entertainment’s Around Town Band.  The bride and groom chose Brett Eldridge’s “Mean to Me” as their first dance wedding song. The band made sure to play special requested songs including “The Man Who Loves You Most” Zach Brown Band, “How Sweet It Is”  James Taylor, “Higher Love” Whitney Houston, and “Wanna Be” by Spice Girl . The reception was where the party really came to life as they crowd danced all night!

With everything going on the world, it’s no secret that many of our bands have had to adapt or pivot. Lucky for us, we have already made great changes this year to perform safely in front of our audience. We’re fortunate to still be playing live shows and very excited for the upcoming events that follow!

The Around Town Band brings high energy experience to every event. The bands elite, talented and studied musicians have toured with some of today’s top artists. They have been featured as artists and musicians in their own right on major records and have graced some of the world’s biggest stages.
